Exclamation Bar Options

So I got the KJ Bogged last weekend. Im now keen to get a winch. However Im not keen on those ghastly front ARB/tjm full size bullbars. and the cost Pfft!!!

Is there someone doing a hoop style winch bar out there?

Is there one that goes over the original bumper or do I have to remove it. That produces issues with indicators.

I like what they do on JK's but understand the differences in front bars etc...

Any help would be appreciated

There are a few issues regarding bars, only arb does one in Australia, if you are wanting one from overseas it has to be ADR complient and airbag compliant. That's where the major problem is.... Cost of getting it approved and engineered, and the cost of shipping, import duty etc etc. Cheaper to buy th arb one. if it isn't compliant then insurance companies won't touch you or could deny a claim

With regards to one that goes over your OEM bumper this dramatically decreases your aproach angle and I also have not seen one with a winch option

All bars will increase weight. There is no way around that, but is the how much question! Not sure what my bar with winch weighs but its helped by the fact I have rope not cable, lighter spotties...

The main issue being the bracket securing the winch to the chasis, it has to be fastened to span across the chasis to evenly spread the weight of the pull without twisting the chasis or itself, which is why you can't even mod a nudge bar to carry a winch.

One option is to carry a tow hitch receiver winch... Or buy something compliant in Australia.. Sorry mate,, no good news

Is the TJM alloy winch bar still available, it's not a full bull bar, just like a big aluminium bumper bar, that is air bag compliant.

No, TJM stopped making them some time ago. It is (was) a full bar which required bodywork trimming to fit it: the guts and winch cradle are heavy steel plate with an alloy cover. CRDSTU had the first steel one and mine is the first alloy one.

Nothing wrong with the ARB bar that I can see, and currently your only real option if you want to fit a winch.
