If you had a manifold clean done, which $2K is a bit over the top, then each service, clean out the EGR difusser and give a squirt of cleaner down the air intake then I reckon it wouldn't be that bad BUT as is stated in the blurb, once you give it a squirt doing it properly you must go for a good derb, not a run to the shop, a proper run, I would do a round trip to Dans, a 130km round trip so any crud is well and truly gone, besides the stuff in the manifold is removed by the cleaner usually like melted toffee, gets atomised in the pots before going to the soot oven which would be fired up quickly, 600deg burns a lot ..... the engine is eating oil and soot and bits that flake off anyway in the normal course of running so if used regularly I can see no drama BUT and old jigger thats choking itself, given a dose after 10 years of crud built up, of course you would expect drama possibly ....
Its a diesel, drive it like you hate it and it will last for 400K km plus.

Talk about price variations...
Nulon APEX+ 10W-40 Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil 10L CK4/E9

Repco $133

Supercheap $114.99

Autobarn $99.99

Don't seem to be on special either, prices seem to float about a fair bit.

Since the medical Place I was visiting was near Supacheep I wandered in there, grabbed a 10lt keg of Nulon and mentioned autobarn has it at $99.99 so I paid $99.99 for it instead of $114.95, I like Supacheep, flashed my card and if they have a special in the next 2 weeks and price it under I get a credit, worked once before for me and a nice bonus.........................

Just did the oil and filter on my 2015 gc diesel, unlike my 2013 my14 which took
7.8 litres to the max mark, the service book on my 2015 says 8.4 litres????
I put 8.1 litres in and it appears just about right??
Must have a bigger sump??

Its weird my book says the same, a Jul 2015 build yet I'm sure I only pour in 7.6lts, yet a later listing which specs CJ4 oil says 7.7lts...... I'll pay closer attention next time..... Its something that has a fair bit of discussion on here over the years...........

Be stuffed, email from Supacheep today, the Nulon oil I bought yesterday, is on Special today till the 16th for $86.24, I now have a $13.75 credit so not out of pocket, thats why I like the mob................ if I had bought it from Autobarn I would be a tad pee'd off today...............

Once I had thought I had a full drum of oil, dropped the sump and found out the drum was empty,, so did the 120km round trip in ute to get some more, paid top dollar for it, the fella behind the counter told me its on special next week and as a member I would get a credit, which I used to buy another drum but this time on special so extra it all evened out .......... So I'm a fan.

Think it might be time to do some oil shopping gents.............

My previous 2014 and now this 2015 take exactly 7.6 litres with new oil filter to the full mark...
