Shell has all but exited Australia.
Viva now owns the shell refinery in Victoria.
They are also shown on many shell oils as the distributor.
I dont know if the Shell oil products will be eventually rebranded as Viva.
A limited number of Shell stations in Victoria are about the only places that still sell bio free diesel that is produced in the refinery.

Many moons ago when I searched for the recommended brand of Shell for the WG, it wasn't here in Australia, it still isn't for this model, in fact the lube guide on their web site is totally incorrect, like a lot of them, I wonder if they still think the Merc engine is fitted, possibly why some of these engines have DPF drama, especially if using a B3 oil ............

Anyway regardless of the brand name the spec of "5W40 CK4 or E9" is what you want, all the rest is really irrelevent, the CK4/E9 to me seems like a heavier duty oil than the earlier recommendation of C3 and as such is mostly available in a 10W40 grade over here which really isn't a biggy as it fits the main operating temperature band in this country easy enough, I shop for availability, spec and price....
Good luck finding a CK4 in 5W thats readily available without an extra mortage.

I'm doing an oil change in the next few days.
I might pick up a drum of that Gulf Western Top Dog Global Plus Stuff.
Never tried it before, only used Nulon 10W30.

So will I blow anything up or will that be a good brand to use ??
I think I need to go from 30 to 40 anyway, as summer is coming.

OK, I'm convinced.
Super cheap have a 20L drum of Gulf Western Top Dog Global Plus for $112.

That works out as $5.60 per Litre, which would get you teaspoon of Penrite.

How long have you been using this brand for ? No issues ?
I will get almost 3 oil changes from this drum. Seems like a deal to me.

Robbo.....you should be running 40w ALWAYS....5w-40, 10w-40...woteva....the 30w was dropped in 2014....heads up....30w is too thin and WILL create issues longterm....even FCA upgraded the Oil via notification to Owners and Dealerships....looooong story....but stop using 30w NOW....GULF WESTERN is a good brand and a few on here swear by it....price wise, its the pick of the bunch atm...all good
