Default Help, issue with tail lights

Hi all, I've got an issue with my rhs tail light.

Without the brake or headlights on, my rhs indicator works fine.

When I have my brake on, my rhs indicator comes on with it (not blinking though)

When I have my brake on and rhs indicator on, you can see the indicator lightly blinking, but doesn't properly turn off.

With headlights on, brake off and indicator off, the rhs indicator comes on the same as if I have the brake on.

I have already changed the multifunction switch and nothing has changed.

Anyone had this before?

Thanks

Sounds like a bad earth in the tail light assembly, on the brake light.

Does the brake light flash when the blinker is used?
Does the blinker come on with the tail lights as well?

99.9% sure it will be a bad earth. Just splice in a new earth lead directly at the tail light (sorry, I can't remember which one it is, but easy to check with a multi meter).

Also check the trailer wiring, had an issue with mine once which basically had created a link of the two.

im having a little bit of an issue testing the earth.

basically none of them have continuity to me negative terminal.

im guessing once you unplug the light canbus does something stupid and switches the earths off?

No, doubt it, but please don’t take my word for it. No point doing a continuity test, because it’s probably not earthing, which indicates that’s the problem. If you can’t identify the earth, unplug the connector then turn your lights on plus indicator, put in reverse and put a brick on your brake. Then with your multi meter, work through the contacts to see which are live. One won’t be, that should be the earth. Just make sure there aren’t two connectors left though.
