Default Mopar Front End Protector

Hi All,

Just joined and have a quick question re: the Mopar Front End Cover (Part 82212083) as spruiked by the brochure my Jeep dealership gave me.

I've just bought a 2014 JGC Laredo 4x4 and am interested in this Mopar car bra (Well that's what I call it). I have searched high and low all over the internet and on this forum but can't seem to find anyone chatting about it. I'm wondering if anybody has bought one and can recommend a good place to purchase one (As I'm sure my friendly Jeep dealer will mark up the price 400%). In addition, this accessory appears to be designed for the 2011 model. Are there any differences in the front of the vehicle between 2011-2014 which might make me better off waiting for a 2014 car bra? Thanks in advance for any help/advice!

It looks like some of you guys have some pretty impressive rigs. I must say that wont be upgrading mine to quite that level but I do expect it to be able to cope with the odd steep/rough track and reasonable river crossing. I am of course talking about the road between Lithgow and the Newnes campground.

For anyone who might be interested, after a few days of extensive sdearching,I came across the American databook for the 2014 JGC. It looks like there is indeed a special front end cover for the 2014 model, not that my local Jeep dealer seems to know about it. I reckon I'll be ordering it from the states.

I am also quite sure you have all seen these accessories brochures before but here is a link for anyone who hasn't

Why not just get the clear stone guard on the front of your car? That will minimize stone chips. Dust and debris get under the fabric bra and scratch the crap out of your paint.

Yep agree, unless you remove, clean and replace your car bra daily, it's just going to chaff. Just get a perspex bonnet guard, bra's look poofy anyway.

Just giving a +1 to what those guys said (so that you know they're not a minority ).

Those car bras are a bad idea (just like car covers... unless you're in an underground carpark.).

Go with a clear adhesive one (lots of places around who install them professionally now.) and perspex deflector.

Thanks all for the tips. I'll look into it.

Is it a Mopar or Genuine Jeep thing or is there a particular brand I should go for? Would anyone happen to be able to recommend a place in Canberra that does it?
