Default Taktik 17X9 rims and tyre options

Hi all,

The time has come to replace my tyres. I was thinking this time of getting a set of new rims to go with the tyres.

I was looking at these:

Taktik 17X9's sold by SBR.

I'm currently running 285/70/17's on stock rims with a full 2.5" Teraflex lift.

I was wondering if I can put something a bit taller on the Taktiks? If I went bigger, would I need to look at regearing? I don't do as much track work these days, mostly a bit of beach work, so it'd be mostly road travel.

Cheers

Depends on the offset what tyre will fit.

Engine and transmission type will dictate what you can get away with or not in regards to regear.

Also been looking at these, crazy cheap at SBR. Do a good impression of a ProComp for a steely. My shoes are all still stock so running 285/70/18. Do you get any rubbing on the steering arm with stock rims and 33s or did the lift alone fix that? How do you find the teraflex lift, it is top of my list for kits? Spoke to a a fitter today who recommended about +16 offset rim for 285 to keep everything legal and under the guards. Specs from Quadratec for the TacTik below. I think the stock rim is +44 offset, so -6 & 285 might push the wheel out a fair bit. This stuff does my head in !

Bolt Pattern: 5x5
Size: 17x9
Backspacing: 4.75
Offset: - 6.35mm
Wheel Diameter: 17
Wheel Width: 9.0
