we lost our bolts while racing offroad, ours went one by one over the period of 2 hours.

by the end we had 1.5 turns of slack before anything happened on the steering.

we were still running fast laps and 120kmh down the striaghts

I like the look of your steering brace. Does it foul on the engine? I have a front cross member off a TJ here, I was trying to mod it someway for a brace. I don't know how that is going to workout....

cheers
I fitted my plates some time ago, they're complete bolt-on, unfotunately the steering box brace hit the engine so it was cut off to leave just the drivers side, until I can redo it that is....

That's right, I think I remember now, in regards to the steering brace.

But those strengthening plates are the shot I think. I'd like to replicate those. Do you remember how much they cost, approx. to make? I realise it was a while ago now and prices have changed, but it may give me a ball park.

cheers

Pretty much like the factory kit that was fitted to mine about 6 years ago.

Thanks for that, I did mention that to them. It's been a week now and they still say they don't have answers from Jeep as to when the parts will get there (if ever). I got pissed off and rang Jeep Australia again who then rang the dealer then rang me back with the same answer. Really starting to miss my Jeep now and I don't even have an answers regarding parts, let alone a repair date.

Fair enough then....
Depending on the width of them, I should be able to knock them out of a metre of flat stock.

cheers
