Dear Ausjeep brainstrust,
Have a 07 JKUR Manual transmission. I have Recently replaced my BFG 35s KM2 muddies with new BFG 35s KM3 muddies and since then the ESC has on occasion operated for no apparent (to me anyway) reason. It only happens along some winding roads, certain bends, and through some roundabouts. Its no real issue except that I find it annoying. When the KM3s were fitted, the car had a wheel alignment. Thinking it may not have been done correctly, a couple of weeks later and I had a second wheel alignment at a different place. The only change the second time was a small adjustment to the front toe position. Still the ESC problem persisted. Was advised by a Jeep suspension specialist to have the Yaw sensor reset. Off to the Jeep dealership, asked them to reset the Yaw sensor. They told me the yaw sensor was part of the ABS and by resenting the ABS system, this would reset the yaw sensor which they did. Still it keeps happening. Other details: I got the car secondhand with a Rubicon Express 3.5 lift running 35s with diff ratios to suit. Over time I replaced the R Xpress control arms with teraflex ones and all has been good for months until the KM3s. Any advice?

Is the steering wheel level when you are driving on a flat surface?

Do your wheel bearings need replacing? Sometimes the freeplay can play havoc with the sensors. Having said that, one would hope it would have been picked up during your wheel alignment.

When you say it happens on certain bends, are they, by chance, off camber right curves?

Mine always goes off on them as it seems to be a bit too sensitive to off camber corners.

Yep, the wheel is straight. Oddly enough, and for what its worth, after both wheel alignments, I had the re-position the steering wheel myself using the draglink adjustment. Both times after the allignment the steering wheel (whilst driving in a straight line) sat a couple of degrees to the right, but it certainly is straight now.

That could be it. When driving straight in the left lane, my wheel is slightly to the right, (2-4 degrees). HOWEVER, if I'm in the right lane on the motorway, or on the right side of the road, it is to the left. This is due to there being a few degrees of play in the steering system from all the mechanical joints.
