Default Chasing a set of 16x7 rims

Hey all.
I am over here from the KK forum searching for a set of 16x7 rims for my KK.I have fitted a set of 265/70/16's and the tyres are a bit too close to my UCA's so I need to offset the rims a bit from my stock 16x7's with a et40.5 offset. The stock XJ 16x7 alloy rims have a et25 offset and the same 5x114.3 stud pattern which will get me sorted. If anyone can help please let me know.I also have hit up the crew over at the TJ forum which also have the same specs..I am in Far Northern NSW ion the Tweed Coast.Cheers

check out Ford Explorer teardrop alloys from late 90s-on

the inside rim is moved about 12mm further out than a stock XJ steel wheel, I run 255/70/16 on a 2 inch lift

online table shows offset, backspacing more accurately than I describe it lol

they are hub centric, not lug centric, and i had to bore out the hub ID about 2mm for the rears, did all 5 though

Thanks awg,I will check them out.I spoke to the guys at Poly 4x4 today and they have some wheels there but the measurements they have given me don't match the specs I have from here https://www.wheel-size.com/
If anyone can shed some light on these rims that would be awesome.I have attached the rims they have. They are 16x7 but the offset they have measured on the silver polished rim on the right is around 140mm but that doesn't match the supposed P25 offset. My KK has a P40.5 offset with 143mm backspace on a 16x7.Cheers

should have linked a pic to mine and for your further info

http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...=153918&page=4

So I found out these work from this forum...you can Google search it too

2 big advantages is they are cheap ($250 for 5, with tyres) used on Gumtree, wreckers have them.

The fronts run right on the outside edge of the stock flares

with 255/70 they just touch something on full lock.

I have adjustable UCA and LCA to fit, which should alleviate this,
they are not as wide

(need new UCA bushes anyway, and want adjustable LCA)

sorry I cant be of any assistance on the other stuff..I have a lot of Jeep wheels & tyres

(other than to say best thing is to fit and measure clearance yourself, compared to stock, if possible...can be done by just comparing theme on the ground

Thanks so much dude. The XJ rims Poly have are no good, the offset is worse than I have so the Ford rims might be the go.I can get a set of Allied Brutes
https://www.alliedwheels.com.au/product/brute/ which can be made to order but @ $1500 for a set of 5 the Ford rims might be the go although the Brute's are a beautiful wheel.
I have done all the measurements needed and my clearance is good everywhere ecept my UCA's.I can go out another 25mm and still be legal. My stock wheel backspace is 143mm and with a 16x7 rim I need an extra 5mm minimum and would prefer at least another 10mm so the backspace for a 16x7 would be 133mm or less.AWG do you know the Ford rim backspace ? it would be a great help if I know what that is before I hunt around for a set.Cheers

according to this site 98-2000 16" alloys have a 10mm + offset

https://www.wheel-size.com/size/ford/explorer/1998/

you can use another online formula/calculator to work out the backspacing, using the above info

(3- 5/8" backspacing according to the calculator and a Ford website, but you would have to check which year, and even measure)

you can Google that info for most vehicles

When fitting the Ford wheels, I used the Jeep wheel nuts, but they only do up 8 turns instead of 10.

They also require 3 small holes to be drilled to accept the "Jeep" plastic wheel centres

The other advantage I forgot to mention is they are also lighter than stock wheels, even with 10" wide tyres

I know the wheelsize site well and even put a link to it in a previous reply and have been using it lately checking out what could fit..I have worked out all the dimensions but all rims do vary a little bit in their actual width so the backspace can change a bit from wheel to wheel.I was just after a bit more precision in the measurement that's all.Looks like the Ford rims do need a bit of worj though and although I am a craftsman and have a dremel but I would be concerned about wheel balance afterwards. There is a wheel restorer and fabricator not far from me but I think it is about $65 to get the centre hole size altered per wheel.I also found this site with the ford wheel specs with +12mm offset.
