Yeah, a mate of mine runs the spiderweb shade & it's awesome. He previously had something he'd fabbed up out of shadecloth & bungee straps; did the trick, but looked a bit redneck.

Yep, the Spiderweb looks pretty much exactly like I had designed in my head. Bugger. Theres goes my next big sales idea!

Simple as flipping the elastic strap off the soft top latching points and close the lid. Love it.

Front only version Trailmesh- US$59:

Two Door full version Trailmesh - US$89:

been using the Black dog one for 2 years, works great but does reduce head room a little. I can say it does help a little with insulation, no more super hot head when you 1st get in the Jeep.

I made one up about 2 weeks ago I wanted to see how hard it would be. I'm happy how it turned out.
What you'll need to do one yourself for an Unlimited:
Access to a sewing machine (you could sew it by hand but it'd take a while.)
1 hammer (what quality Jeep mod doesn't involve a hammer as some point)
1.4 m of shade cloth, I went with 50-70% as the 90% felt and looked terrible. For the Unlimited 1800 mm wide is perfect.
1 grommet kit (9 grommets)
2 bags of tarp tiedowns (4 in each bag)
1 releasable cable tie.

You really only need a width of about 1.2 m to cover the Jeep but you need to add a seam down each side to neaten the whole thing up and to give the grommets something to hold onto or they will pull through. Also add some reinforcing to the one at the front that attaches to the footman's loop by the cable tie. All up it takes about an hour to knock one up and about $30 for stuff from Bunnings and some decent poly thread that is UV stable.

Fit it using the same method as the Spiderweb shade.

The result

Yeah, he & Xiphos could get together & combine shipping. I can see the ads now "install a dual battery setup to run your fridge & keep your beer cool, and one of our patented sun shades to keep your head cool. All for the low, low price of...".
