PROS:

They actually rate it. 120 kgs driving, 300 something static like when you are all in your rooftop tent. Try finding a rating for an AEV.

You can use it as a lifting point to remove your hard top. No extra bolts to remove.

Low profile, fit under stuff.

Can be easily fitted with basic tools, good instructions supplied.

Platform is pre assembled.

Freedom panels come off easily.

Do not need to remove roof to fit, just needs to be slid back 300 mm .

CONS:

Have not found any.

Cheers, Mick
personally, i don't think 100/300kg is enough once you add on a 100kg roof top tent and a couple of people (potentially moving around)

I spoke to AEV about the lack of rating and was told the roof rack is as strong as you'd expect being bolted to the actual roll cage of the car (i'd say like 150kg on each of the 4 mounts would be fine but i'm not sure about the rhino tray itself)

It's the dynamics of jeep itself that stops AEV wanting to give a rating

This is just a few roof tracks bolted to the JKU about 5 years ago... carried Kayaks, Fishing Rods, wood, steel flat bar, even a shelving unit from ikea. Always has the awning bolted to it with three aero roof bars.

Always planned on getting something else but no one rack does it all for me.
Rino useless if you want to go topless. The exos (Garvin, Uneek, etc) all look crap and mount with too much flex and too high off the roof.
Only leaves the AEV and Frontrunner... I'm leaning to the ugly frontrunner as its infinitely variable and can be used wit the top off with huge weight carrying. Just need to fit a decent light bar to break up the ugly front look.
Matt.

AEV wont give a rating so they can avoid liability. You say 150 kg per mount is fine? Have you tested that?

An 100 Kg rooftop tent? WTF? an electrically actuated one weighs 75 kg.

120/360 ratings for the rhino. Check their website.

Not saying buy one, but I am happy with the way mine looks and performs.

So if you break the rhino in a rooftop tent..you need to lose a shitload of weight, stick to one partner, and/or cut down on the viagra intake!!!

Teraflex Nebo

Also bolts to the roll cage but allows the hard top to come off relatively simply.

I almost went for the frontrunner, two reasons i didnt...

1- how much higher it sits then the AEV

2- it looks like there is a higher lip around the outside meaning the James Baroud wont sit flat on the deck and would need spacers to sit on (lifting it even higher)

glad i noticed the 2nd point before ordering online

Yeah i've tested it with my bodyweight moving around up on the platform and it's completely solid (i meant 150kg per mount static load)

looks like i was off with the tent weight but with a smaller unfold style roof top tent, you'd probably be tempted to make use of the other space on the roof rack, maybe a few jerry cans 25kg each so still really easy to hit that 100kg

You have yours setup pretty much as mine is now, but I don't have 3 aero bars. It's simple but I need something a little more
