Hey probably around 80-85 odd so a bit low but no complaints! I'd rather be low than high

Having a groaning from the back left of the car. Dragging drum brake or a bearing? I suspect bearing but will adjust the drum in the morning.

Also. I wanna grease everywhere. The top ball joints... Steering arm... Where else?

And having an issue with the driveline clunking when taking off. Have all good mounts. Ujoint or slip yoke play?

mine runs low temp since the new plastic rad & thermostat.

fitted a 89C Tridon, but i did drill a 1/8" hole to assist bleeding

when the ambient is cool, ( less than ~17C), it heats up in about 5 min, but runs mainly in the range 74 to 84C on my digital gauge, even after 1hr

we had a 25C warm day and it ran 85-100C.

I didnt think a 1/8" (3mm) hole would have that much effect ?

a few things I have learned from talking to my mechanic mate, & reading here, is that the bearings wear out on all high mileage D35, and the rear brakes HAVE to be right

I had my drums machined and fitted new linings for about $100 total, then used a big old caliper to set the adjustment exactly equal and they have been fine ever since, prior to that they were horrible

Awesome! My car seems the same mate. Exact same temps as you. Just got back from some trails and was running about 98degrees comfortably whilst in 4hi with AC on going up hills. So running the exact same setup as you but bypassing the heat exchanger in the radiator and running two trans coolers (big aftermarket one and the factory one). Happy it's keeping temp now.

And cool. Bearings are stuffed and rear brakes need adjusting I think. Ill just get them done. I reckon one of my unis is stuffed too, it clunks under load.

Anyone ever have a clunking in the front end from one side? Fixed by going in reverse and slamming the brakes on lol? Could it be my brake pads moving around in the calipers...?

The xj has control arms??? Sorry to be a skeptic but it 'is' solid axle with uni joints at the front, upper and lower ball joints, the big steering arm, and sway bar bushes + sway bar end links?
