With Bluetooth, I'd consider running Torque, and sell off the Aeroforce gauges I currently have. I wonder if it can talk to the OBD2 & phone at the same time?

But the head unit & speakers work together & it doesnn't matter if one is the greatest on Earth, if the other is crap. The result will still be crap. the stock Infinity amp & speakers aren't crap, but what is considered good for the JK now?

I have heard the Kicker replacements and while they are great, I can't recommend the awesome OEM Alpine system enough. I haven't looked but imagine there must be at least one cheap-ish set from a wrecked Jeep for sale somewhere.

I'm thinking I might go with a pure Android one.

It looks like Torque doesn't run on Android Auto and I want to be able to use that & if the occasion calls for it, Memory Map.

Let me know if you want a look / play time with one (Joying Jeep specific) before you drop down cash as I put one in over the last few months - Can head up the road to you

Might take you up on that, thanks. Or I can head down, either way, it's not far.

Which sort did you put in?

I ended up getting a Kenwood put in which has made an amazing difference. The power and sound of the unit when compared to stock is like comparing day and night. Apple Play works seamlessly which makes it so much better for daily drive (particularly mapping).

I also have a reverse camera, situated on the relocated number plate - off centre but works a treat, especially with the big rubber on the back.

The model was DMX7017BTS.

They guys at Napa Auto Store Logan City installed it and did an awesome job. There was an additional harness to make sure most of the steering wheel buttons still worked.

Happy days.

Hey, love the Kenwood decks, and i'm looking at the new DDX9018DAB one or similar, for my 2013 JKU.

So... any idea what harness they used to retain all the steering functions? Also keen to understand if your deck shows vehicle info like tyre pressure etc.

All the install vids i watch from the US, 100% of them use the idatalink maestro RR with the CH1 harness, literally makes it all plug and play and everything works for any chosen headunit and brand.

Annoyingly, as always, no Australian dealers of idatalink, so caught in like 3 minds..

- Go with whatever local installers do to hook it up (hoping same outcome)
- Order from US and either install myself or give to local installer

Thought i'd do some recon before talking to local installers
