Default Replace rear wheel sensor

Hi all

So all the dash lights came on for the wife, and it won't engage 4X4.
A local mechanic plugged a Scantool in and it says the right rear wheel sensor is buggared. A guru mate says that's an easy replace job, and I found a good YouTube vid of it being done on a JK.

Has anyone done this before, and were there any surprises?

Seems like it’s only a matter of time before this fault occurs and I’ve not been gentle with the KK so surprising it hasn’t happened yet. If you can share the video and any tips I’m sure it’ll be handy in future.

Default yes, it's for a JK but they must be similar

YouTube link:

A useful source of part numbers:
https://parts.moparonlineparts.com/index.php?p=cart

I have asked if they'll send parts here, does anyone know a good source of online OEM parts?

I've had to do a Hi-Lux, but that was because he unknowingly wrapped fencing wire around the rear diff housing behind the wheel and crushed all the cables and sensor, shorting everything out. Once we got the fencing wire off, I spliced in new wiring to the sensor and the plug to the harness, and it was all good. So just because there is a "sensor fault" it may not be the actual sensor, but just damaged/faulty wiring from the sensor to the harness....

Happy to receive ppl's "faulty" sensors to look at and test, possibly repair and pass on to the next 'failure' like an exchange program.

BTW, love how the "Florida" jeep club specify metric sockets, when they are probably just providing the metric conversion of SAE/Imperial.
5/16=8mm, and I'll bet they are using 18mm for 3/4 which is usually converted to 19mm as 18mm is rare. I had to buy a 18mm deep socket special as no kit comes with one.
