Default wanting more flex

hey guys, went out on the weekend for a bit of wheeling and did some customary flex shots.

i may just be a little bit unrealistic, but i personally thought i should be able to get a bit more droop than this.

i really regret not having more of a poke around and having a look at what was stopping extra droop e.g bump stops, shock at full extension etc or if i can even get much more compression up because of my flares but in the photos below, that is at about maximum droop.

my question is with the parts i've got, what can i do to be able to get more flex?

I've got:
teraflex bump stop extensions from their 2.5" coil kit.
bilstein 5100 2-3" shocks all round
rock krawler 2.5" with dual rate at the front springs
AEV control arm drop brackets
teraflex rear trackbar relocation bracket
synergy front trackbar

i feel like a bit of an internet noob here because i know i really should just go and flex it up and confirm for myself whats causing my limits but i think i should be able to get more from what i've got.

but what do you think i should do to get more flex?
i think ill need to flex it up and see if my guards are stopping me being able to remove the bump stop extension and just go back to factory bump stops which im guessing would give me the same amount of extra compression as the bump stop length (at the bump stop location) which should inturn give me the extra droop on the other side right?

or should i be going to 2" higher shock relocation brackets? front and rear?

any chance you think of me removing those extensions with factory guards on? or will i have to go flatties to do it?

i half expect the same answer i've just given but someone may be able to shed some light.

thanks

Where was my invite?

Did you disconnect the front swaybar link in that pic?
I ran the shock extentions for a few weeks, I did one easy play around in some mud and ended up bending a shock due to the shock extension sleeve

Your control arms are what is limiting your flex. I guess you are still using stock arms if you are running with an AEV drop bracket. The rubbers of the stock arms, although good, do not have enough give in them to allow them to twist/flex a great deal.

I've got front upper and lower Metalcloak control arms and the amount of flex I am getting with only a 2.5" lift I would have my 33's comfortably sitting in the bottom of that ditch in you second photo.

The problem I now have, because I still have stock rims, is that I have to use 4" of bump stop to try and prevent the inside of the tyre rubbing on the upper spring bucket, but it still happens and my tyres are only 255/80/17s.
Looks like I will need new rims but I will probably get rear Metalcloak control arms first.

Am I getting this right? At for example that I am on the bump stop on the drivers side, but then changed control arms, and removed bump stops on the passenger side, would I get any more droop on the passenger side? Or will the axle angle be limited because of the opposing sides bumpstop?

Its probably got a lot to do with your shocks, the 2-3" 5100's are only 25" long fully extended. You need to be careful when adding longer shocks though, as your coils may dislodge, you can get clips to hold them in.
Teraflex also over bump their kits as they do not know which size tyres you will be using, but you probably only need 1" or so bump stops, and not the 2.5" supplied with their kits. The required bump stop size will change if you change your shocks or tyres.
The lack of travel will have very little to do with your control arms.
