Heres a conspiracy for you, it's becoming so congested on the weekends and holiday periods throughout the proposed proposed NP that the Vic Government is struggling with infrastructural costs and this is a gift from above for them

That a good point, it's coming to a local forest near you all, it's just a matter of time realy.

I this will weigh heavily on many business owners throughout towns surrounding this proposal already struggling with drought, fire, etc etc. What will they do if this closure go's through, oh thats right, they are supposed diversify & innovate, it's a great catchphrase but history has shown it costs big dollars and is rarely successful.

All these greenies need to keep in mind who volunteers to pull their sorry asses out of the bush when they get lost, don't get me wrong I've spent many a night in a snow shelter with my Jeep, hiking and backcountry Skiing in the hi country; we actually frequent all those hard to get to locations and are always at the ready with the much of the equipment necessary to facilitate access (Winch, chainsaw, etc ), not to mention first aid. It's actually the dear hunters and four wheel drivers who are more likely to assist when you get get lost in the bush, Its ironic how they are the most adversely affected by those that they help

Here is a coment from the site...

Give me 1 carload of 4wds, hunters or campers compared to 100 greenies any day!

The death of many small towns is about to begin. I am not sure how a national park is going to save the possum considering it was a bush fire that made the most significant impact on their population. A national park is only going to make the fire hazard greater. Increased weeds, overgrowth and no firewood collection......... How is this going to help! It's time people in cities stop making decisions on the lives of people in the country.

What needs to happen is we all get together and protest in huge numbers on the steps of parliament, it's the only language they understand & if that's the level of stupidity were dealing with, God help us

I've signed.

I believe these decisions are being made by the National Park officers themselves who then make submissions to Government for closures..some of them think it's their own little piece of heaven.

As an example I was recently at Fraser Island and 2 rangers looked like they were removing the "No vehicle acccess beyond this point " sing at the entrance to Middle Beach, if you've been there you'll know where I mean.

So I wandered over and asked them if we were finally getting access to the beach...I was bluntly told by one of them "This is my favourite beach there will never be any access while I am in charge of the island" I replied "Mate I am born and bred in this country and I have a stake in this island too what legislation gives you authority to make such a decision" I didn't get a reply he just turned away and kept digging.

It all comes down to the National Parks officers not wanting anyone in the National Parks they want it for themselves.

The real problem is the Victorian National Parks Association. Its a private club for greenies & national parks management people. They come up with BS reports & then Parks Victoria say its the truth & make recommendations to government. The best thing that has happened recently is that the CFMEU has come out in support of its members in the timber industry & as they have premier Andrews by the balls, there have been long term timber licenses issued & so the state forests will remain state forests.
every time there is a bush fire in the region they claim to be so important to possums, more of them are killed.
The current minister Lisa Neville is a bitch, she is all about votes. All she wants is to be seen hugging koalas & telling us how they are saving things. Total BS. The previous minister Ryan Smith was no better, he was nothing more than a Chardonnay socialist trying to keep all the pseudo greenies in his electorate happy. Parks Victoria is known by its employees as Disneyland as working there is like one big holiday in a theme park. The management of parks Victoria think they own the national parks & they can do what they want with them.

It makes me sad that someone who shares the same surname as me is pushing to lock areas up.

I wonder if we are related? Maybe its time for a family reunion....

I would not normally believe it but I've actually seen evidence of the very same thing when recently in Gembrook.

Just across from the main entrance to the state forest there is a little track that runs along the edge of it.
The Kangaroos frequent this spot as there is a clearing and a lot of grass.
I noticed it had been closed, the local ranger was standing there with his 5yo daughter so I stopped to ask why it was closed.
he went on for a bit about, "this side of the forest is now closed to four wheel driving", then his little girl is tugging on his arm saying, "Daddy can we go an see the Kangaroos now!".
I looked at this young girl and said, We would all like to see the Kangaroos.
I just waited until he walked over and unlocked the gate, drove through and then locked it again, I stared down at him from my Jeep and he was clearly troubled and embarrassed.
