While v5 looks a lot better with more features (bells and whistles). It's better to stick with what we have now. I guess all we want is a good forum that won't break.
The latest version still has a bit of issue with styling not working now and then. v4 is pretty much ironed out the problems but not worth the effort to upgrade. v5 is good for mobile thou.
I would say, wait until this one break or v5 is dead stable.

Photo resizing would be great.

Also the ability to upload more than one photo at once. Everyone loves photos so the easier it is to upload the better. Sometimes I don't upload photos because it takes too long. Most phones are now 10+ megapixels which is overkill for the forum.

V5 has many limitations and limited hacks for customisation.
V4 is a better option and greater degree of options for customising.
Re image uploading and manipulation. If your server is running the latest version of php it will break the image editing functions in V4.

I have 2 forums and have been waiting for vbulletin to get its act together re v5 before I upgrade from v4.

Will look into the image resizing etc, I thought we had that sorted.

I'm of the mindset also if it's not broken don't fix it, maybe I'm showing my age. There is a great deal of backend mods that have been done to this forum over the years to add functionality that we all take forgranted, and not knowing how these types of things would port over is a concern.

Obviously better mobile ability would be great to allow a move away from Tapatalk which is a constant headache, but just for that isn't enough at this stage I don't think.
What forums are you running JW?

Re the image editing in vb4. I have just upgraded to vB 4.2.3 the last vb4 upgrade. This has fixed the image resize issues.

I suggest if you upgrade go the vb4. That should work well for you.
