My experience with one of the local dealers has been very positive. True they may not know about Jeeps as much as the customer, but they are more than helpful - particularly in the parts department. I mostly deal with Continental Cars in Auckland.

there is a jeep dealership in perth which is now DVG melville. they seem like a reasonable crowd i bought a used xj cherokee from them drove it a couple of times on bitumen. then was laid up up for a couple of months after an operation. then while driving up canning highway a car load of young blokes went past and told us our back wheel was wobbling. pulled into a car park and had a look but couldn;t see it. got home and found a rear diff seal leaking. took the car back as an oil leak is a warranty item. they called me in to see the car on the hoist with the engine running and tge back wheel wobbling. the vehicle was obviously delivered to me in that condition but they simply denied that it was and i must have abused the vehicle. as i was laid up recuperating i obviously wasn;'t. but i was dealing with a car yard so i should have expected it i guess.

With all your bad experiences with car yards, (based on your posts here and on other threads) I'd give up, buy a pushbike, or a horse.

With such a negative attitude towards car yards, no wonder you never have any good stories.

There are certainly some really bad ones out there, but I just thank them for their time, walk out and go back to the good ones I've dealt with previously.

I once bought a car from a really dodgy looking little car yard and then had a major problem with it. They fixed it with no questions asked, appoligised for the inconvenience and then sent me a christmas card. It blew all my stereotypes :) Hey what happened to our emoticons??
