Default Suspension upgrade.

Im sure it has been mentioned before, and I have been searching through the forum content, but I must ask the question of what brand suspension you would recommend? It looking at a two lift lift with about a medium duty suspension for an XJ Cherokee. What brands are the way to go and what ones to steer clear of? All for a reasonable price too.

Two inch lift gives you a lot of options. You can go a budget boost with spacers up front and an add-a-leaf in the rear or OME with new leaf pack and coils. What sort of budget are you looking at and what do you want the lift for?

Cheers
Steve

I'd go OME with some extra coil spacers (6 bucks each from ARB for an extra 10mm lift). If you had to replace the arms I would go straight for the JKS flex arms.

at 2" id go coil spacers and leafpacks...rockcrawler leaf springs ($630) from 4WD1 will compliment that plus OME Shocks...this can be done for less than a grand but think about where you might go with this in the future...so many people have put mild lifts on only to want more and end up paying 2.5 times more for parts and labour in the end...if yer happy with a mild lift then go for it...if you have ANY doubts consider your options and be patient...save yer bucks and do it once and only once!

My budget was to about 1500. It was only for a lift and carried a bit of gear when required. I heard OME was the way to go. I might go down and have a talk to them through the week. Coil spacers and new leafs were a consideration. Wasnt planning on anything higher than that for a while, so that isnt an issue.

Go higher. I put 2 inches in (king springs front and EFS rear) totally happy with results!!

Now I am going to add spacers in front and shackles in back for another 1.5inches. 2 inches accommodated 30 inch tyres nicely but I might want something bigger and just a little more clearance.

From now on I am going 1 inch higher than I think i want....I am calling it 'plus one' disease. Same as guys that have a boat want one 10 feet longer (plus ten disease).
