Default unpainted bits on 2003 CRD

Is it just mine or did the Austrian assemblers run out of paint, I've just had my first nosey underneath the bus and found lost of unpainted mechanical parts. both tailshafts steering bolsters and other cast iron bits, allready looks terrible and rusty.

CRD's?

Not just WJ's in general?

I'll have a look tomorrow morning in the light......

All WJ's are the same.
The slack buggas are pretty hit & miss on the underneath paint & then have a half a##ed attempt at slapping some sound deadener/underbody sealer on.
If it worries you get under there with a wire brush & steel wool & then repaint it. Or just spray rustproofing everywhere.
Its a shame that they stuff up some of the finishing touches on such a great vehicle.

my Tj is the Same.
Lots of under body parts not painted.
Showing signs of rust.

Trying to decide how to go about it right now.
Don't want to pull it all apart.

Any ideas ?
