A big factor in my lift size. I have 35's on my jku atm and unsure to go 2,3 or 4in.

I seem to gravitate towards girls with a high COG.

I'm all for LCOG! Big tyres under small suspension lift. I'm running 35s on my TJ and did a DIY high fender lift and have had no problems. Plenty of clearance under the diffs, great stability and enough flex to get me where I want to go. HCOG feel horrid in a short wheel base on off camber and steep inclines

Its all a compromise. Sweet low COG will result in less belly clearance comoared to same setup with more spring lift. Hence why rock crawlers have systems to raise and lower suspension height via various methods.
A sweet setup would be to have all aspects of LCOG (guard lifts, high clearance belly, long droop suspension) plus have variabke hieght control, like Wooders AirRock suspension to give you the ability to provide better ramp over angles, and approach/departure angles comparable with big lift vehicle.
As for anyone arguing LCOG as being cheap, well then they havet addressed fundamentak fkaws wuthstock vehicle components to provide better articulation and strength; in fact LCOG built would probably cost more or at least require more fabrication.

could it be said though, a higher lift will allow more articulation and travel giving a more adaptable and secure footing as opposed to less with less movement and restrictive bump stops?

obviously there is a point where this is nullified but before then, i think suspension travel is more important for stability?

Correct me if 'im wrong

I too have 35's and running AEV Dual 2.5" setup and is sweet both on and off the black stuff, may be going with flat fenders soon and remove the bump stops for more upward travel. does not look out of place with running 35's on this lift setup. Just my 2 cents worth!

Cheers
