Removed the Ironman spring pack from the rear of my XJ. Done less than 1000ks, but had flattened to the point that the two overload leaves had become part of the pack which made it quite harsh. Worked fine until they settled onto the OL leaves. The national Sales Manager advises me that they are designed to work like that. They will replace them if I like, but the new ones will do the same......

Dug out a standard spring pack, which I think came out of a car with about 240,000ks. Bought new plastic pads (thanks AG) and added a set of Add-a-Leafs that I got from Wooders a year or two ago.

Height is nice and ride is nicer.

I have HD shackle relocators in the rear and I now have an easy 4" of lift, with a decent ride.

The front has Ironman coils with 50mm spacers. Need to replace these when I can.

Have Rancho 5000s all round.

Yerr I have read a few peoples comments about Iron Man gear being fairly harsh. I found the same with my 40mm King coils; they just seem way to hard to compress. On road they work a treat and probably would be excellent if I never wanted to go bush. I too have Rancho's but 9000's but I have had to set them on #2 from #5 as my offroad ride was awful.

Regards A

It doesn't make sense that a company makes a product that works the way these do. On an old pre update I owned some years ago, I fitted the same part number. They still have 20mm separation between the main pack and the OL leaves and it rides well after about 25,000ks.

I do have RE upper & lower control arms with Wooders panhard and panhard mount. Will get drop boxes when Dave re-stocks. Currently have DB flares with the guards trimmed to the max. 245/70R17s will be replaced with 285/70R17s when I sort the gearing.
