Thought about that but i didn't want to make a complete flat pan like the nth degree mobility because that requires a motor mount lift and some minor smacking of the floor pan and tunnel to slot the case up higher (2000 TJ and up). lets face it clearence should be obtained by a lift kit and larger meats, the main reason was strength, light weight and the ability to remove the lower plate (two peice skid plate)and "give 'er an hosing down" after a play.

Rear driveshaft will be handled by a SYE - clearence for drive shaft will have to be accounted for - front is long enough to handle anything.

Ensuring that this part (circled) of the skid plate is replecated exacly is my only concern for an easy swap and cheaper fab work (no maths as all the dimensions are already there)....and clearence for the shafts. I will CAD something up when i can.

Cannot certify the accuracy of this diagram for the TJ.

Honestly bugger the flat plate. By lifting the transfer and g/box you are dramatically lifting the center of gravity. The reason it is slung low in the chassis is to ad low weight. I only like the tube idea casue i am sick of having to put her over the pit or on the hoist just to get all the mud out...... its a bloody crap catcher that skid plate. The reason its got those indents in it is to stop wind noise

I'm pretty sure its kept low as a cost cutting exercise so they can keep the weak slip yoke.

- but then weight becomes bit of an issue.
the weight wouldn't be that much more and it's not like a jeep is going to notice a few extra kg's you don't worry about weight when you slap a 35"on your jeep
