Installed my Stedi 8.5in type x pro driving lights.

Really happy with the result. I still need to tidy up the wiring a bit but it’s functional.

For those interested, I decided to install the switch in the panel next to the accelerator. The cable is passed through the right front guard and under the door seal.

I realize it’s not the cleanest way to install it but I’m happy with it anyway.

Thanks to everyone in my other thread for the advice over the last few days

I went to a weigh bridge today, my 15 WK2 diesel has about 110kgs of extras in bull bar, bash plates, awning, rack rails and side steps, weighed in its town set up it didn't leave very much for a tow ball to sit on the back or load the usual camping gear in back, in fact 290kg left till it hits GVM, sitting on the front axle limit with a 30kg bull bar so anyone with a steel bar/winch and all the other racks and stuff, don't go to a weigh bridge it might be scary. Its gong to be interesting next time I head off with my van and I run it over the bridge, I should just scrape by.............

Mate weighed his which is fully stock with his van on back and his figures made me think I better check mine, his van is same as mine weight wise....

I reckon it's the GC's Achilles Heel, actually one of worst in class for payload wriggle room. It's why I've never bolted on any goodies, preserves all the payload for my van and related gear.

Most of the 3.5t tow utes are the same especially once they throw a canopy and bull bar on, Ive always said a 3.5t tow capacity really means 2.8t tow unless you drive an empty car.......... glad I never added the extra battery........
