Just had a squiz at the manual and made a copy of the page for you. I'm sure it's a 42RE box though.

Just checked out a place where you could download a manual for it but while the site is still there the manual isn't anymore.

It's not all that hard to change the oil/filters and adjust the bands if needed, if you have a hoist or big ramps, I put mine into a shop as I always make a mess and stink for a week afterwards.

Doing the Jobs not hard have already swapped my Tcase to a 242 from the 249 a year ago, just need to service the tranny oil just wanted to make sure i get the right filter so its is a 42RE not the AW4 as in the XJ.
Thanks for the pic i got my code and it is the 42re.
Cheers

it IS a 42RE and the filter is exactly the same as the old 727 box, (around $8 from most trans shops),.....gasket is 42RE specific and i recommend adjusting both bands while you have the pan off,......makes a HUGE difference to the shifts etc......all very easy to do.......cheers.....kim
