Default diesel gearbox service?
Hi Oiler drivers,my 99td cherro seems to have given up on first gear, it will go in but jumps right on out before the clutch has fully taken up, mostly anyway. Occasionaly it will do the job, but not when it counts., can leave me looking red faced monkey at the lights.Its done 160K .I would feel better if i had left 1st on some gnarley bush track but no such luck. Anyone else had this particular problem ? Thanks Guys&Gals. BAZ. :oops:

Mine just went Bang at 160k so i sent it to hammonds to get fixed she all good now

160k hey, hmmm I have another 70k to go till then. Are there any things that can be done to help extend lofe, apart from oil changes??
How often do you think the oil shold be changed and what oil would you use??

And i thought the car came with oil already in the box.!!! 5000k for the donk,and 40000k for the box, with timley checks seemed good to me, now i dunno , maybe one of those fancy additaves would have extended its life. I think that first gear seemed very low in comparison to the grunt the motor delivers ,must be a doohickey in there not up the job.Ill call hammonds next week. All the bushpig mechanics around here ever did to the Jeep was to break stuff!!! BAZ...
