Hey folks ready to pull the trigger on an smitty xrc atlas front bar. I love the look of it but I just wanted to double check the weight before i do. I have seen a few sites in the states that list this bar as 223lbs which converted to kgs = 101kg approx. Seems awfully heavy... Am i missing something here or is it just a super heavy bar?? Can anyone verify this??

You are correct. Quite safe to say that it's one of the heaviest bar around at double the weight of most others. If you want that, it'll be a good idea to look into some coil spring spacers or springs with higher spring rate to compensate the heavy weight in case you are going to add winch as well.

I'm pretty sure it's not even close to that.
I fitted mine by myself and while it's a little awkward to lift, I don't recall it being that heavy......unless I'd had an extra helping of weetbix for breakfast that morning.
Speak to Daniel at Trax. He was a good bit cheaper than the other local guys (from memory even cheaper than he had them advert sized on the website) with good freight rates. He sells a few of these so he'll know exactly how much they weigh as well.
For reference my front suspension (SS 2.5" flexi coils) dropped about 10mm when I fitted it.

Thanks for the replies! Seems odd that it's so heavy. On face value it looks like less bar than some others on the market that claim to be around to 50-60kg mark. I'll do a bit more asking around and post back if i manage to get a confirmed weight for it. I'll be putting a winch on aswell so i'm hoping these numbers are false and its actually a bit lighter!

It's certainly not 100Kg. I'd be surprised if it's much more than 40kg's. It wasn't that heavy to lift.

It is. Adding skid plate and winch can take the whole bar close to 170+ kg. A bit heavy, but then it is heavy duty.
