Default 8x5 trailer for camper?

i got a tandem 8x5 trailer cheap .needs a bit of TLC.thinking of converting it to a camper trailer sometime in the future .is it too heavy or too big for my TJ?
I towed the trailer with my work 79 series v8. could nt even feel the thing. havent towed it yet with the TJ as i havent installed the rear bar yet. for the time being it will just have a dirtbike and 2 tool boxes on it.i will be reloating to WA 1ST WEEK OF FEB. SO ITS GOING TO BE GUNBARREL,GReat central road etc. just worried how my TJ is going to fare. any feedback appreciated.

It would make sense to get a trailer (or construct one) that has the same wheel track as the TJ (which should be 57.8-58.5" in stock trim - or around 1.5 metres).

A standard 7*4 box trailer has a track width that would be near that figure.

A trailer with the same track width is much easier to tow and will be easier on fuel economy and stress on the tow vehicle.
