TassieFSJ, i had it running 33's with springs reset and 2" body lift and a bit of cutting/trimming.
Then 35" Pedes with more trimming.
Then 37's with a LOT more cutting trimming and XJ flares. You'll see i had to cut and stretch the rears by about 3" (hence the dodgy fibreglass work- ran out of time/enthusiasm to smooth the join over and make it look nice. Besides, its covered with mud most of the time.
The front shocks are 2nd hand off a ZJ 3" lift kit (I think) and are perfect for current application- they dont allow the front spring to extend/droop to the point where the shackle will go past the point of no return (check the pic above).
Maybe once the SOA is done and new shocks sorted I should sell off that combo as is- springs/shocks and longer shackles. Any takers/interest?

Bobtail it.Chop the arse off an inch or 2 behind the rear wheels and lose the rear passenger doors.You could turn it into one of those 3 door XJ's that are in the US or a 3 door FSJ Chief.
Cheifs are built on the same chassis, have the same wheelbase, and the same rear overhang.
They do have the same front doors as a 4 door/FSJ, but have a wider track/axles (around 6 inches I believe) and steel flares moulded into the guards to cover the tyres.
You can see both the black and the green chiefs /utes have the same rear overhang as my FSJ in the pics above.
I have thought about shortening the rear, but you wouldnt be able to do too much as the rear spring hanger is as far forward as you can go in shortening the chassis and body.
Will post some pics in a few days so you know what I mean.

Aaahhh ok.So I'm guessing the rear spring set up is similar to the XJ rear spring set up, with long reaching leafs packs which would make things near impossible for a bobtail chop.
