Default 95 xj rear wiper not working

Hey all.

I've tried searching, but can only find threads on TJs etc.

My rear wiper has decided not to work... Is the motor in the rear door, or near the wiper reservoir? I will obviously need to find out why its not working... Being a 19 year old car, I expect I will have to replace it..

Any tips on testing it before I bite the bullet and try and find a new one?

Cheers in advance.

Alex

Test for power to the motor. It's in the rear door.
The wires can break where the loom runs from the body to the rear door.
If you are getting power to the plug, would suggest the motor is past it.
You could also test the motor by hooking it up to 12 volt direct.
Good luck with it.

x2 I had to get my wires cut and joined as they had frayed just on the edge of the roof.

Motor is in rear door. Removing the Door Card gives access. If you have replaced screws for number plate, check they are not too long.
