Default head light help

HI All
Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to get rid of the mode that leaves the lights on while unlocking car and locking for 1min.
some people say its because of the heat that batterys dont last long in the jk's but I think its this shit feature that keeps the lights on during starting of car and lights staying on after locking car, everyone knows not to start a car with lights on or leave them on after car is off because over time it will shorten battery life!!! so why dont the turkeys at jeep know this????

if anyone knows any tricks to get rid of this mode that would be great..
cheers KB

This can be altered by accessing the menu in the cars computer system from inside the car. The car salesman changed mine [2012 JKU] when I picked it up but sadly I wasn't paying attention when he did it. Drop back to your dealer maybe and enlist their help. It is only a two minute operation.

I believe however that the selection through the menu options is only available post 2011 models with the interior upgrade, I'm sure I've seen a "how to" for earlier models somewhere in the forum.

Yep, prior to the EVIC system (that all JK's 2007 to 2010 inclusive) you can only do it through Dealer programming.

Yes, I was just trying to point out that a few guys here had it sorted out at no cost by taking it to the dealership...
