Exclamation What the ANCAP safety rating is on the Wk2?

Hi guys, can anyone tell me what the ANCAP safety rating is on the Wk2. Redbook says it is a 4 star but jeep salesman said it would be a 5 star. Can anyone tell me if a transmission cooler is standard or optional. Salesman said it was standard on the Overland. Any comments would be appreciated. Cheers.

Well I have one, and never ever needed to know any of that info when buying the car.

This says NOT TESTED YET

Transmission cooler on the V8
Multi-speed Auto
The 545RFE multi-speed overdrive automatic transmission is mated to the available 5.7-liter V8 engine. Enhancements for 2011 include quieter transmission operation, cooler operation on the transmission oil cooler (improved trailer towing capability), improved shift feel for the full range of throttle, addition of Electronic Range Select (ERS).

Chrysler Australia do not have their vehicles tested in Australia and none have a ANCAP rating. Any ANCAP ratings published are false and incorrect as no Chrysler Jeep Or Dodge vehicles are crash tested in Australia or Europe.
They are crash tested in the USA hence they have the US Rating.

The New US 2011 Crash Test procedure has been made more rigorous and difficult to acheive a 5 star rating. If the 2011 Grand Cherokee was tested under the 2010 procedure it would have had a 5 Star rating. The 2010 WH has a 5 Star under the older rating system and the 2011 WK2 has a 4 Star rating under the new tougher testing even though the new model is loaded with more safety features and is noticably safer with more air bags etc.

The 2010 WH has a 5 Star under the older rating system ....

Stupid beaurocrats and intellectuals ....

Fudging the ratings makes it look as tho vehicles dont get "safer".

Increase the testing ... absolutely ...... and then just give a higher star rating to reflect the "improvements" over previous models.

.... or is it maybe they cant count past FIVE ??

FWIW, none of us should take ANY notice of frontal collision rating for a US market WK2 as Left and Right hand drive vehicles often test very differently.

However, I'd be mighty suprised if the WK2 didn't rate at 5 stars on an ANCAP or NCAP test.

I reckon they have to this every few years. If they didn't a great wall or chery suv would have 5 stars because it matches features of a 1980 volvo (pulling that out as an example only, happy to be told an old volvo is safer). Lets not let anyone have an over inflated reliance on these chinese boxes of $@&). (drove a chery as aloaner for 1 day from dealer. .... Eeewwwww!)
