Desperately need brake caliper bolts

Sheared off a caliper bolt last night in the caliper pin. Managed to get it out but need to replace it asap as I can't drive the jeep without it.

Tried Jeep - none in the country and say it could take two weeks.

Jeep Part Recyclers in Hervey Bay have none.

Trying to get hold of Wooders but no answer and their voicemail is full which is not a good sign.

In an emergency you can take the caliper off zip tie it out of harms way. Put some timber in the caliper.

Take the other caliper bolt and go to Nuts and Bolts shop and get high strength grade 12 bolts and keep some spare.

When ever I've need a bolt for the jk I just go down to the local bolt shop, not like bunnings or the hardware but a proper shop that deal with just bolts and fasteners. Just yesterday I got new drive shaft and diff covers and sway bay bolts from there. Just explain to them what it is so you get the correct grade bolt. Hope that helps.

So its item 1 in the following diagram?

If so, agreed, tale out the other one and shoot down to a proper bolt supplier and it will only cost you a dollar or two.

In the caliper slide pin, that would be the bolts going into part number 3 pictured there. I remember these as being very soft and easy to stretch...they need to be cleaned and re-assembled with a mild thread locking compound and do not get tightened very tight at all, nowhere near as much as the large bolts pictured number 1 there. I do not recall if they were metric or imperial and what grading they were given.


Look for a caliper rebuild kit, you'll probably find some there. Start with other Chrysler group vehicles and then branch into the cheaper lower end Merc benz products.

Yeah its the bolt labelled number 1 in the diagram, though that is the front vented disc as opposed to the rear solid disc but they're the same part.

I have a work-around until the real ones show up from the states. Got some Grade 12.9 cap screws and hardened washers with the same shank and narrower thread section. Not completely satisfied but it should suffice for a short time.

Ok so I checked the manual again and the rear Caliper Adaptor Bolt is a different part number to the front.

Trouble is, when I google the rear Caliper Adaptor Bolt, 68003276AA, the results tell me it's an M12 bolt. There's no way the ones I need are M12 - they're M8. Looks like I might have to order both part numbers to be sure I receive the right ones.
