just wanted to let you know about this event held at
http://www.murchisonoffroadadventures.com.au/ first weekend of august. its a 4x4 comp designed for your average 4x4er and is a great chance to show what you've got. the event is really laid back and is not designed to wreck your car, you can not drive a track or line if your not comfortable with it.
the event is classed so you are competing against similar cars.
I raced this event last yr and had a ball, I was doing real well until I had to pull out due to my tranny lines. I have also raced 2 times in the mud nutz comp (also heaps of fun) and I went in the king of clubs comp this yr.
id love to see some more jeeps up there this event, my old xj gets kinda lonely with all the patrols and cruisers. I think a set up rubi conforming to either stock or medium class would have a real chance at a win, so give it a go.
even if you just come and watch, its a great spectator event, the camping is really nice on the Murchison river, so check the website, mal and bev who run the place are super cool people and always help u out.
they have a bar and grill that serves good food and drinks.
also the SBR jeep safari is held at MOA and that is another awesome event so check that out as well.
