LED Projector Headlights with a Halo Supply and Install Advice
Hi all, was looking at installing some LED Projector Headlights with a Halo on my 2014 Unlimited Sport.
I have heard that not all LED headlights work with Australian jeeps. So I would appreciate some links to any headlights that you have installed on your own jeep and that work.
I am looking at something like the link below:
https://www.extremeterrain.com/dv8-o...o-0717-jk.html
I like the look of the halo when your driving during the day time but I notice a lot of them serve as indicators also, which I don't want.
Also if anyone has any advice on how to power the halo that would be great.
Thanks,
Darren

It's more a matter of whether they lights are designed for left or right hand drive cars. You may have noticed how the light from the normal lights is higher on the left, to help illuminate road signs, while not blinding oncoming traffic. Ones designed for LHD cars, (US & Europre etc.), kick up on the right instead. So it is important to check with vendors that they can supply RHD versions.
As for the halo flashing, that would depend on where you get the power from. For parking lights, (a rego requirement in NSW, at least), you just wire it to that lead. My JW Speaker headlights have separate leads for DRL & parkers.
For the DRL I just ran power to mine from an accessory switched line, so they come on when I put the key in. If you tapped into the side marker light, for the parkers, (since in some places they don't have them), then they would flash, but that won't be an issue if you just use the parking light lead that is already there.

Something to note as these are likely identical to much cheaper headlights that you can get from ebay. As stated these do not have the correct light pattern, you will need to point them down and to the left to stop from blinding oncoming traffic. The QC on these are not great either so I would budget to replace these every few years as they will break (I am only my 3rd pair). They also deteriorate relatively quickly. I had one headlight replaced under 12 month warranty and it was considerably brighter (both halo and actual light) compared to the 12 month old one.

I have the JW Speaker lights and they are ECE and ADR compliant. Most eBay ones won't be. I've had them for over two years without any problems.

Thanks for the information!
I think it will go with these:
https://www.jwspeaker.com/products/j...ad-headlights/
Ideally I want the full circular halo but the JW Speaker lights are the best quality I can find that include any sort of halo.
@banshee I think I will wire similar to yours, in that when the key is inserted the DRL come on.

I am using a smart relay by Hella:
[url]https://www.hella.co.nz/en/products/rel http://ays-flashers/safety-daylight-...ontroller.html
This basically identifies when Jeep is started from battery charging and turns on DRL. But when headlamp is turned on, it cuts off DRL. With headlamps on auto, DRL become auto too. Works perfectly.
