I've added a Facebook question / poll regarding the max tyre size increase a 4WD vehicle should be allowed to have:
- Yes - Restrict to 50mm.
- No - Allow greater than 50mm.

Poll is located on NCOP Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/ncop.org.au

Please vote and share the poll amongst all your 4WD friends.

[QUOTE=Weekend4WD;

So by NCOP, its 3in max suspension and 1in max for tyres... Which is going to force people to put in 2in body lifts so they can use their full 150mm of lift.

It just isn't thought out properly.[/QUOTE]

Weekend4WD, can you send me a PM with an explanation as to how you worked out this statement? I'm confused by your calculations. Why do you say only 1" max for tyres if the suspension uses the full 75mm as allowed under the ncop's?

Sorry for confusion.

If the NCOP only allows a 50mm (2in) increase in tyre size, then this is effectively a 1in lift - you only count half the tire size increase, just for the bottom half wall (the top half of the wall doesn't lift the tyre any higher).

This is because the vehicle body is lifted at the chassis, connected to axle, attached to wheels. So its only the bottom of wheel which effects lift - so if you fitted alternate tyres which are 6 inches increase in diameter, the vehicle only raises 3 inches. But by NCOP, we can only increase 50mm, so really 25mm total body lift = 1inch

Does that sound a little better?
