Default 2.7 CRD P0340 code

This is the camshaft position sensor code. It has come on twice (with limp mode) when under hard power going up a hill. The first time it was like loss of fuel pressure as I thought it was going to cut out but it picked up when I backed off. Is this a sensor problem or something else? Thanks

Low fuel pressure will usually cut out then you need to stop and restart engine. But this code can come up as well when you get low fuel pressure code.

My 2003 2.7 would cut out under full throttle going up steep hills - same cam shaft sensor code coming up as yours - changed the sensor but still cut engine at full throttle - ended up being 1 injector stuffed - found it by using injector leak off test kit that measures fuel on return line from each injector - bought off e bay for around $45.00.
My also cut out overtaking a truck at 120kph at full throttle - very dangerous so advise you to fix asap.

Thanks almc3 - I ended up getting my diesel mechanics to clear the codes but it turns out the waste gate solenoid was the problem (I see another poster is having the same problem).

However -- They also want to replace the Turbo Intake Hose (jeep A 665 0940009) but have not been able to find a new or second hand part in Oz - Polly 4X4 cant help.

It can be sourced from the States but if any body out there has any suggestions much appreciated.

Highly doubt that's it

Surely there's one in a wreckers somewhere?
