A quick google leads me to believe there is a backup battery in the siren and the fix is to replace the siren P/N 56038724AB.
If you are not having alarm issues I would wait and see if it actually causes an issue before replacing, may just need a good charge once you have the other issue fixed.

Thanks Clarky, the alarm went off once a few weeks ago when the car was just sitting in the garage. No other problems with it so will do as you suggest and see what happens when the 02 sensor is replaced.

How many Klm's do you do in the car, it throws a lot of codes, are they short or long trips?

Currently mainly short runs up to 100k. Hopefully after the sensor is replaced next week it will be right to travel further. Also the "engine" light came on this afternoon I hope it is in connection to the sensor needing replacement!

Had the o2 sensor replaced. Didn't solve the problem (even though the sensor was clogged up and needed replacing) - red flashing light still comes on in first few klms and blow a bit of smoke on acceleration. Once turned off for 10 minutes light won't come on and doesn't smoke. Will welcome Any more ideas you guys may have.

Finally decided to take it back to Jeep. They think it may be the electronic throttle control? Dealer will have it on Tuesday to see if the can work it out. Just not looking forward to their $150 hr plus huge parts markup. Anyone bought that part from suppliers other than Jeep dealers?

Hi
I think someone looked in the handbook.

We have some Jeep dealers that were Fiat Dealers who had Jeep pushed onto them over the last few years. Frankly when it comes to our older WH they do not know their arse from their elbows.

Are your dealers jeep ones that have been at this a long time?

For what it is worth this is a vid from a jeep specialist over here.

Another specialist did say the egr can throw the light too.

Will be interesting to see what codes the jeep scanner pulls.
