Up the Center and west to the Kimberley

To the family and I are hooking up the camper trail to the JKU and heading up the centre and across to the west to explore the Kimberley for the next 7-8 weeks.

we are hoping to celebrate my 40th birthday with a dinner at Uluru before heading upto Darwin to say hi to some family. Thereafter, we head west to the Bungle Bungles, Broom and the red dust of the Gibb River road

will upload photos, tips and campground information when I get a chance.

I was hoping to do something similar (though likely a more modest trip - probably 3-4 weeks) for my 40th later this year. Picking up the camper trailer this week. After that just need to do a couple of shake down trips to get the camper sorted and try to work out when I can actually get away.

Enjoy it's an awesome part of the world. We did 8 weeks & 13500km in 2012 with our XJ and camper. Started in Melbourne, Alice springs, across the Tanamai into Bungles, across to broome, up the Dampier Peninsula, Derby, Gibb river rd & Kalumbaru rd to Mitchell falls, kunanurra, Catherine then back home.
