Started on a mitsi L300 years ago .... didnt like the overall weight factor/rust issues in jap vans .... so gave up on it.

Be a fun project tho ....

Theres some XJ conversions in AJOR .... KJ69 or someone had one.

Drawbar weight would be a problem. The rear wheels as a pig trailer pivot point is too far rearward on a van and the resultant drawbar weight would be half the trailer GVM.

Cutting the rear off an XJ worked due to the shorter length and larger rear over hang putting the wheels just rear of the centre of mass as a pig trailer should.
Matt.

i would look at moving the suspension foward (fab spring hangers etc, cut new wheel well maybe??). maybe 4 wheel trailer setup like the big semis do?

That would work but is a serious amount of cutting and fabricating...once the wheel wells are moved forward they will most likely intuded on the sliding door/side access.
Did you plan on keeing that or just use the rear access??
