Default Will they fit ( tyres ) 265/70/R17

Sorry guy but I have to ask will they fit our soon to be transformed Khaki Green ( 2 shades off black ) Commander XH currently running 245/65/R17 Goodyear Wranglers that are 753 mm in diameter and would like to go to 265/70/R17 Cooper ATR's that are 803mm. Taking in to consideration the lovely bolt that is very close to the top of the front tyres as posted in Bommer's My New boots thread ....dated 24 / 7 / 07 page 2. Thankyou for your time and comments..Micfee

Having only gone for the 245/70R17, I would be very concerned about the bolt, because it is awfully close to my tyres with just the extra bit of height. If you add even more height and width then I'd be very surprised if it wasn't rubbing - but let us know if you find out for sure.

Not sure if the Commander offset is the same as the Grands but I am running Cooper STT 245/70/17's and have no issue with the bolt and I think they are a larger diameter than the ATR's. The only issue may be the width as I have been advised that without offset I should only go to a 255.

I have the same STT's on my Commander with offset as per Wanderer (43.8mm). The diameter is 780mm. The ATR 265/70/17's at 803mm diameter won't fit with standard rims : 17 x7.5 x 43.8 (offset) even with 2 inch lift as Wanderer rightly suggests. You would need to change rims and offset as he is planning to do (look forward to seeing them too!)

I just fitted 265/70R17's to the standard commander rims. My vehicle has been lifted 2" with Kings springs and Bilstein shocks. I had to cut the bolt, not enough clearance leaving it as is. My drivers side tyre rubs on the aft plastic arch guard (this guard is very flexible though and I can pin it back) at almost full lock. At full lock the tyre is about 1" from the chassis rail.

I have fitted Yokohama Geolander AT/S, they are not as agressive on the edge of shoulder like the cooper ATR. I could squeeze me liitle finger in between the tyre and the bolt but didn't think this was enough clearance with tyre bulge when cornering. I am yet to get it on the serious offroad stuff, but will get it up on a few lumps tomorrow to get max articulation and see what happens.

Been doing alot of reading about tires for the Commander, now ive narrowed it down to either 245x70x17 or 245x75x17. It seems the 245x75 is most popular in the US, what are the final thoughts about the 245x75 here in aus?? I read bombers post about the 245x70 MT ATZ and if i find them for the right price then i think ill be going with these.
