Default Help hard top leaking

I just purchased my first wrangler, and the hard top is leaking in the corner of the front doors. Is this a known issue with the hardwood? Or is there a way to fix this?

It’s a 2015, 4 door unlimited sport.

I have posted some pictures to show what’s going on.

Take the floor bungs out.
Will stop leaking when the rain stops

That's pretty much standard with OEM soft tops.

The best defense is to keep your rubber seals clean. Give them a wipe with your wash cloth or sponge when washing the vehicle and dry them with your chamois when drying the panels.

Also get yourself some rubber seal conditioner like Gummi Pflege and apply that once a month or so.

Default Help hard top leaking

Thanks @Nanook, it’s the hardtop though, I guess I still do the same procedure?

Sorry mate, yes same procedure.

Sometimes it leaks there with the hardtop on if the freedom panels aren't seated properly. The rubber seals across the top need the same love as the door seals as they can get pretty dusty.

I'd suggest taking off the freedom panels and wiping down the seals then carefully placing the freedom panels back into position then making sure they are secured tightly.

The handles that secure the panels across the middle roll bar where the speakers are can be a pain to tighten up, but you can buy things like these to make it easier.

Those ones are pretty expensive but the cheap Chinese versions pop up on ebay a lot.

I never had a leak until I started taking my hard top off but I have gotten used to having soggy heels from leaks at the windscreen corners. Even then, mine doesn't leak as much as yours though.

I second cleaning the rubber seals of the freedom top and reseating them. Lithium grease seemed to work for me to keep the rubber seals in good condition. Check that the hardtop screws above the B-pillar are tightened too.

It the leak persists after you have tried everything, speak to your local dealership - they used to have a kit of rubber strips and bits for sealing leaks.

Thanks guys, let’s hope cleaning the rubber seals does the trick.

Had to pull out the carpet and open drainage holes, there was just over an inch of water from driving around today.

I replaced the weather sealing strips as the looked tacky and old so I’m hoping that does the trick.

I’ll also try the soft top next week as it’s brand new so maybe that holds a better seal until I work out what to do with the hard top.
