Gidday pmac.
Yeah there is an instantly noticeable improvement.
I actually fitted the rears yesterday afternoon (ran out of daylight) and then drove down to the shops and the change in the arse end was dramatic as one of the old rears had no pressure left in it at all ie. when removed the rod would slide back into the shock under its own weight. The other rear had about half pressure but bushes were totally flogged and flopping about.
I did the fronts this morning. They both still had reasonable pressure in them but again bushings very flogged to the point where the lower mounting piece that goes through the bush actually fell out of one when it was removed.
In addition to the improved ride the new shocks have eliminated a lot of rattling noise that was present due to the flogged bushings, etc.
The other consideration was that the old shocks were carrying a heavy winch and very heavy Rock Solid winch bar so the new front shocks are no doubt carrying them much better too.
The main thing that made the job go smoothly was that when I fitted the old set about 18 months ago I spent some time wire brushing all the threads on the mounting bolts and applied neverseize liberally and then applied some WD40 about half an hour before attempting the removal. That definitely helped.
So now the big question is whether or not to fit the nice red and black stickers that came with the shocks. My 8 year old son reckons they would look cool but I told him that they would look better and it would be more fun if the shocks were covered in mud instead. What do you reckon?

Washed the Jeep.

And tried Turtle Trim Restorer and couldn't believe it worked. ( SO FAR ) $20 well spent.

Sort off see it getting applied. Pretty much that's how it looks once dried.

Down the track I want to get the bars replaced and colour coded.

Let us know if it stays that way. Tyre spray shine works well but doesn't last.

Update us if the stuff still works in a week or so, my plastic is bloody horrible, nothing seems to work after a couple days especially if its been wet.

3 Months its meant to last. But I'll coat it once a month I think. Better then the dull look with the water run marks lol.
