Any thoughts of doing up a little build thread with dimensions/recipe for those less technically minded but equally keen silver WG drivers. Pretty please?
Also jealous you are getting out and playing, still waiting for new C-V to arrive before I'm game enough to put any pressure on the tracks!
Ahh yes, the old 'waiting for parts' scenario. It sucks doesn't it

We get out and do some sort of wheeling every week.

I will whack up a bit of a slider build thread after they have been battle tested a bit.

Today we put 'Dexter' the GC into some chassis twisting terrain and I couldn't get the drivers door to rub on the slider. Even so, I am going to lower that side's bar for more clearance. Mainly because if that bar gets a hit on log, or so, it might bend up enough to touch the opening door.

It's an easy fix, and I'll include the fix in a slider build thread.

I think it was in this forum where someone else did a really good slider build thread. Immaculate welds and stuff. It was pretty good.

Put my no expense spared ALDI roof rack rails on, they actually fit, no noise and don't look too bad, $70 to hold the beach rods and awning...perfect.

Hoobz would love to see how you bolted the rails down, look good but yeah they are close`, a bit scary.

Good to know Drover I just picked up a set today for the wifes Challenger. Hope the variable fitment has enough leeway for different rails.
Went elcheapo for part time fitment.

Default Last Saturday I dropped my tyre pressures

And drove up Big Red!!!

You'll have to believe me as there does't seem to be a pic of the surrounding desert.

Before that I installed a snorkel, built a Flatland 4x4 Bar, replaced a bearing in my transfer case....

A couple of months back I was worried about the reliability of the Jeep, at no time did I have any concerns. The only problems I had were:

1. At the top of Big Red, my passenger side window would not wind up due to a broken window regulator. As it is a common issue I had the metal replacement part to fix it in Birdsville.

2. The other issue was a rear axle oil seal has failed and developed a slow leak which will need to be fixed.

We had an F250, Pajero, Pathfinder, Mazda BT50 and an 80 Series Cruiser and the only other problem was a split CV boot on the Paj.

Bloody hard trip as a heap of tossers towing trailers have chewed the French and QAA lines up to buggery. My guess is high tyre pressures, heavy trailers and low to no experience.
