AdSense is an advertising scheme that uses context sensitivity to display advertising material that may be relevant to a user of this site.

For example, if I were to browse the "Grand Cherokee" pages, I would find (probably on the rhs of the page) an ad with a link in it to a site that sold, for instance, "Grand Cherokee Snorkels - 20% off - click here".

The advertiser pays you to appear on your site in a contect-sensitive way, avoiding blanket ads and earning the owner of this site some well-deserved revenue. And because it's context-sensitive, I probably wouldn't object to reading these ads anyway - they're advertising what I'm actually likely to be interested in!

The plan was to put the ads on the main forum page (ie not every post) and the portal to try and get a few $$ to cover hosting etc..

Its a bit stupid they reject us considering its us sending them traffic not vice versa.. and they really are a good idea (a very non intrusive relevant ad).
