1998 Diesel 2.5ltr Reset ?

Hi ya guys. I have only had my Jeep a little while but I have come accross a few problems and hope someone here can help.. I had the battery disconnected for a repair, when reconnected the engine would not rev very quickly past 2000rpm, (appears to be a "default" mode) after about a day it would come good. I have had this 3 times but upon the 4th time the "reset" or what ever it is has not come good. Is there a full reset, I have tried the 30 seconds postive to earth ( once disconnected) and then reconnect , ignition to on position, then headlights on, then off and ignition off, but no good. The Jeep guys in Perth said it would cost about $1500 to purchase a new number1 injector and a small module thing and all will come good, they have not heard about this battery thing I described above. I really hope someone can help me. Thank you

hi stubbie, you had any luck with mr jeep over that side yet ? Find another jeep guy, ask to have him reset your computer. By the way can get a second hand injector from Jeep recyclers in harvey bay Qld . But doesnt sound like yours is an injector problem. Cheers BAZ.

Hi ya Baz, I think mine is so very similar to your experience, I had my Jeep in at "jeep specialist here in WA ( what a friggin joke that place is)" they played around with injector and when I got it back it would not do the reset thing that I have experienced in the past. I figure that I may have had a problem with the injector, as they should not have this "12 hour later auto reset thing" in the first place. I have not gone back to the "jeep" place as I will drag some bloke over the counter I am so mad. That also said I would need a "module" thingy, do you have any idea of what this is...? stubbsy go to detroit deisel in ashfield tell them you want a injector for a 2.5 liter vm deisel that produces 90 kw after he shows you one or tells you he can get one
check it against the part number of yours
dont tell him you want it for a jeep till he does the above

Hi stubbsy, Murrays advice sounds good regarding VM for an injector.Jeeepart Recyclers in Harvey Bay are on 0741289422 ,they say they pull these injectors from crated motors, test run but not used. THe one with the sensor costs more. Dunno what the module is you refer to. I still don<t think my prob, is yours thoughit sounds much more likley computer.You didnt break an injector,you just disconnected the battery. cheers BAZ.
