Default Replacing AEV drop brkts with adjustable control arms

Has anyone with a AEV lift replaced their AEV's Front Control Arm Drop Brackets with some adjustable front lower control arms like the Synergy ones, I'm looking to gain some height under the JKU and the AEV drop brkts sit quite low and take a hammering offroad, if you changed over did you notice any difference in the manners of your Jeep.

Cheers Stephen

Yes. I did just that with same arms. I was getting some movement out of the brackets. 4.5 lift, pit in the arms and all movement gone and no more dragging the brackets on rocks

I went the other way. I had the Synergy Adjustable LCAs & went to AEV drop brackets.

Similar steering feel but the brackets were significantly smoother with onroad bumps due to the angle of the arms between the axle & chassis. And since I have 2 shot discs and spend most of my time on the road...

If you want to keep the good ride keep the drop brackets, I started off with adjustable control arms & added the drop brackets later as the angle of the control arms was very steep & the ride was harsh over small bumps, fitted the drop brackets & it smoothed out the ride

They really are targeted at different markets, the drop brackets will help to smooth out the on road ride, but have limitations when used for serious off road work.

So IMO you need to decide what's more important for you, strength and clearance or ride. Everyone will make their own call on this.

Thanks for all the feedback, its interesting to see most went the other way, the new JKU Jeep will not get used for DD duties as much as the JK did, it will be more a 50/50 onroad/offroad mox rather than the 80/20 mix the JK was, I think I will test drive one with LCA's to see the difference it makes.

Cheers Stephen

I run both on my XJ and just the drop brackets on the JK, I had the adjustable arms on the XJ first and then added the drop brackets. They do more than correct the caster and improve the ride and personally I wouldn't bother with adjustable arms anymore as I never had an issue with the drop brackets on the XJ (5.5" lift and 35's)

Cheers
Steve
