Default Rubicon Sway Bar Disconect

The sway bar notification is flashing in my instrument cluster which obviously means there is a problem.
So far I have:
Undone one side of the bar arms and yes the sway bar is moving freely.....it has not locked back in;
Disconnected the electrical connection on the sway bar motor....dash light still flashing;
Completley removed the sway bay from the vehicle and unbolted and removed the motor.
Reconnected the sway bar motor (without the sway bar) to the car and tried to operate the sway bar switch in the car however the motor appears to not do anything.
I assume the motor is the problem unless I have missed anything,
Do I dismantle the motor or is there no point?
Can anyone tell me across what pins at the sway bar I can test for voltage?
Anyone got any helpful links?

There's a zillion post on F'ed Rubi sway bar units....... they leak like a sieve, and the internals aren't waterproof in any significant way.

Some lucky ones are just full of crud in the clutch mechanism and can be cleaned and regreased, but most have terminal electronic issues and are scrap.

They are unnecessarily complex units...... controlled by CAN with a host of unused capabilities. So once they die.... that's pretty much it.

Replace it with a DBOR manual actuator..... unless you like spending LOTS of cash on a replacement that will just F up again.

Mines stuffed too - i serviced it regularly & eventually it developed so much play that i have to replace it . I'm looking at options now unfortunately.

Take it apart. What have you got to lose? Apparently a lot of the time it's the circuit board which wouldn't be worth replacing but you might luck out and find something simple in the motor

MickyK,
I had a shitty connection in the electrics. I pulled apart the entire plug and found that the tiny pin connectors were loose. I slightly bit on the connector to make it tighter, put the plug back together, and voila, sway bar disconnect pin from the motor was thrusting like a gay boy at mardi gras!!!

Yep, took it off the car and dismantled it. Stretched the internal return spring to give it more oomph and lubed the internal mechanism with some grease as there was some rust starting to form on the locating pin for the clutch plate. Put it back together and the dash light light is gone and the bar is now locked back in again.
All is good.
