If you wanted to spend the coin down the track yukon have a c clip eliminator kit for the 8.8 which gives you chromo axles minus the clips and you get press in bearing blocks with set 20 bearings which push the width back out to standard. Superior gear and axle make the same kit but I believe their out of business now.

I've had my explorer 8.8 on the rear of my girl for just over the last 100k. I run a large offset rims so I've never had to worry about the tyres rubbing on the inside wheel wells. The tyres are basically level with the bush wackers and you can barely tell its narrower at the rear.

Yet to see any unusual wear and tear on the front unit bearings, in fact the poor things have clocked around 360k... should really check them for play again.

Kizzo what long arms are you thinking of getting?

I'm getting the ironrock off road long arms. Will be running the bushwacker flat flares also with 3.75 bs rims.
