Changed the oil filter on my Diesel last night... man it was on there tight, had to use one of those chain vice grips to get it off.

Tried to figure out why my temp gauge was flunctuating and overheating while at speed, plus running rough. Automatic thought went to head gasket, and big money. Luckily its only the top radiator hose and the rough running was water on the HT leads. New hose now..........

Default NSS, Brake light switch.

Went and bought CRC cleaners, lithium grease, ball of string etc for NSS overhaul yesterday

How much was a new switch ???

Rebuilt an XJ brake light switch the day before. Had a broken contact - simple swap over once the switch is apart - if you can source components. Stripped an old spare TJ switch. Better than paying new OE price of $110.

Yes I'm a cheapskate. ...........home made CPS next.

Thats why I posted it up here When I removed the mount I noticed a build up of mud and rust on the top surface so figured that it can't be seating fully

You should change them all now and not just the one that burst! They are all just as old and could very well burst after you replace the top one.

I'll second that, over a 6 month period after replacing the top radiator hose, i have had to go back and do the bottom hose, radiator cap, heater tap, etc etc. Dont wait for them to go, 'cause they always go at the worst possible time.

See how you go with the Jaycar CPS, I spent maybe 3hrs mucking around with it but now that it has been done it should take less. If I were better at writing instructions like Gojeep is I would do a write up on it....
